Every single word that comes out of your mouth is the first and the most important step towards achieving a goal or making a dream come true. Affirmation places a positive image in your mind by making you believe that something you want to happen or con-tinue has actually happened.

This positive image in your mind permanently shapes your point of view and makes you see things in a more positive light.

When you focus on your intentions and the positive outcomes you want to achieve as a result of the affirmations you make, it basically means that you are back in the driver’s seat of your life. You can replace a negative thought with a positive one and neutralize it.

There were some affirmations that have been really useful to me during labor, and I’ll share them with you below. You can also create your own affirmations if you like:

My body has been designed perfectly to be able to give birth, it has already been given all the information, wisdom and power it needs to make this happen.

I trust my body’s and my baby’s abilities and I have complete faith in them.

My female ancestors have given birth to their children naturally for millions of years.

 I am faithful.

Birth is a miracle. I’m lucky to be able to have this experience.

I am opening up with every contraction and getting closer to seeing my baby.

The pain I feel is not real, it is caused by anxiety. I am not injured, I don’t need to be afraid. My body has to open up to help my baby come out. I’m only watching, observing, breathing in and out. I realize that this is an extraordinary and trans-formative experience. I am observing my feelings and focusing on the things that make me feel better; the rhythms, colors, patterns and breathing.

The pain is not working against me, it is working with me.

I let things flow. I release all the tension that could occur both mentally and physically.

I am opening up! Like a blossoming flower… I appreciate the process… And I surrender to it! I am comfortable and safe. I remember that I am an extension of nature! I resign all control and I let the birth happen.

 I let go.

 I let myself go.

Everything is alright, it’s not long now.

I’ll be able to hold my daughter/son in my arms soon.
